Sproat Lake Provincial Park

Sproat Lake is a favoured location in the Alberni Valley for swimming, fishing, water skiing and when the wind is 'up', wind surfing. Water-oriented recreationists love the warm and sunny lake and culture enthusiasts may enjoy a pleasant walk to view prehistoric petroglyphs on the eastern end of the park. During forest fire season, the gigantic Martin Mars water bombers use the lake for their runway as they thunder off to extinguish wild fires. Located on the north shore of Sproat Lake, 13 km Northwest of Port Alberni on Hwy 4.
